OPERATION
!
WARNING
Before using the saw each time, check the following:
1. The blade is tightened to the arbour.
2. The bevel angle lock knob is tightened.
3. If ripping, make sure the fence is locked into position and is
parallel to the mitre gauge groove.
4. The blade guard is in place and working properly.
5. Safety glasses are worn.
The failure to adhere to these common safety rules, and those
printed at the beginning of this manual, can greatly increase the
likelihood of injury.
LONGITUDINAL CUT
1. Remove the angle stop (C),
¿W
the longitudinal stop (B) and set it
to the cutting width.
2. Raise the saw blade to approx. 1/8” above the workpiece.
3. Switch on the saw and wait until the saw blade has reached its
maximum speed. Carefully guide the workpiece against the saw
blade. As you do so push the workpiece downwards towards the
saw table and against the longitudinal stop as it is being cut (Fig. 1).
!
WARNING
When the end of the workpiece reaches the saw table, use the
pusher stick (N) to push the workpiece. Push the workpiece
completely through the saw blade using the pusher stick (N) (Fig. 2).
A pusher stick (N) is supplied with the saw.
NOTE:
When the width of the work piece is 2 to 6 in, use the push
stick to push the work piece. When the width of the work piece to be
sawn along its length is less than 2 in, the push stick cannot be used
as the blade guard will impede the work. Use the auxiliary guide as
indicated on page 49
.
ANGLE CUT (Fig. 1)
1. Swing the saw blade (Q) into the required angle using the hand
wheel (T) and secure it with the locking screw (C).
2. Raise the saw blade (Q) to approx. 1/8” above the workpiece.
3. Push the workpiece using the angle stop (6) and pusher stick (N).
