Compressor uses
too much oil
1. Clogged inlet
filter
2. Wrong oil
3. Oil level too
high
4. Crankcase
breather valve
malfunction
5. Compressor
running
unloaded for
too long
6. Compressor
operating
outside in cold
conditions or
inlet filter
not protected
against water
7. Worn piston
rings
8. Piston rings
not sealed
1. Clean and
replace if
necessary
2. Drain and
replace oil
3. Fill compressor
with oil to
proper level
4. Replace
crankcase
breather
5. Increase load
or stop
compressor when
not needed,
check for air
