TESTING AND RESETTING THE GFCI OUTLET
Test the GFCI outlet with a GFCI tester. Read the GFCI tester instructions on how to interpret
the light code.
If you don’t have a GFCI tester, plug a device, like a lamp or radio, into a working outlet. Turn
the device on to confirm it works. Switch it off and unplug it. Use this to test the outlet.
1. Start the generator.
2. Plug the GFCI tester into the GFCI outlet and read the codes.

3. The tester should show the outlet is working correctly or the device will be on.
4. Press the Test Button to trip the GFCI outlet.
4.1
The tester should show the GFCI outlet has no power. The device plugged into the
outlet will shut off. This indicates the outlet is correctly wired

5. Power remains on after the Test Button is pressed. Follow these steps to resolve the issue.
5.1

indicated problem.
5.2.1 If using a device, stop the generator and disconnect the device. Plug the device
