Troubleshooting
This chapter explains troubleshooting methods when this product is not operating
correctly.
If the problem is not resolved after using these methods, contact an office listed in "Appendix A
For information on the unit indicator and cartridge indicator status refer to "3.1.1 Front View"
Phenomenon
Solution
The unit indicator does not turn green
when the server is turned on.
Check that this product is connected correctly to the
server (if the SATA power cable and SATA data
cable are connected correctly).
This product is not displayed in the server
BIOS Setup Utility.
Check that this product is connected correctly to the
server (if the SATA power cable and SATA data
cable are connected correctly).
This product is not recognized by the OS/
backup software.
• Check if this product is displayed in the Server's
BIOS setup utility.
• Check if this product is supported by the backup
software.
The cartridge indicator does not turn on
when the cartridge is inserted.
Eject and re-insert the data cartridge.
Check if the indicator turns on when using a
different data cartridge. If it turns on with a different
cartridge, the other cartridge is damaged.
The data cartridge is inserted but is not
recognized by the OS/ backup software.
Check if the cartridge indicator is green.
Check that it is in a format usable by the OS /
backup software.
The data cartridge cannot be ejected using
the OS/ backup software.
• Close the software that may be using this product
and try ejecting again.
• Try ejecting after rebooting the server.
• Check if the data cartridge can be ejected when
the OS is not operating (BIOS Setup Utility, etc.).
If it cannot be ejected, this product may have
failed.
