Change to US-Standard in regional settings:
1) Copy the files libraryfiles.exe and pHSolver-v07.exe to a folder named pH-solver.
2) Start libraryfiles.exe by doubleclick and follow the instructions. If the software asks you
wether an existing file should be overwritten, please click on “NO”.
3)
Start the software pHsolver-v07.exe by double click
.
6.2.1 Determination of calibration constants
If you want to recalibrate a sensor (or a sensor batch) you have to obtain the calibration
constants by the following procedure:
1. Connect the pH-10 mini via the RS232 cable to your computer.
2. Switch on the pH-10 mini and connect the sensor as shown before depending on the
sensor in use.
3. Start the pH-10 mini software on your computer and start the measurement.
4. Mount a sensor spot as described in chapter 5.1 or a flow through cell (chapter 5.2).
Place a buffer (or a medium of similar composition as your later sample) in the vessel or
your flow system. To minimize the response time, slightly stir the buffer solution. Please
ensure that the calibration solution covers the sensor foil completely.
5. Wait until the phase angle belonging to the respective buffer is constant (the variation of
the phase angle should be smaller than
±
0.1°).
6. Exchange the first buffer by a next buffer (you should use 6 different pH – covering your
expected pH range- e.g. pH 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) or adjust your media with acid / base
additions under control of a pH electrode. Wait about 3 minutes until the phase angle
belonging to the respective buffer is constant (the variation of the phase angle should be
smaller than
±
0.1°).
7. Notice the respective pH and corresponding phase value.
7. Open the file pHSolver-v07.exe and enter the pH-values of the used buffer (i.e. 4.0, 5.0,
6.0, 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0) and the corresponding phase values in the calibration value
window. Use <space> as delimiter.
