6.1.1.1
INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
The installation of the equipment should be carried out in a location combining the following
characteristics:
•
The penetration of liquids, dust and/or objects into the equipment through the
ventilation grilles must be prevented; otherwise, its integrity would be put at risk.
•
It must be protected from atmospheric agents.
•
The ambient temperature should be within the operating range of the equipment.
•
It should facilitate the connections.
•
Proximity to magnetic fields and high-power systems should be avoided.
•
The working position shall be as described above and the site shall be vibration-free
and prepared to support the weight of the equipment.
•
Exposure of the system to corrosive gases or products should be avoided.
•
It must not cause obstruction of the ventilation outlets (which would cause the correct
dissipation of the heat generated inside the equipment).
Some recommendations must also be taken into account regarding the equipment’s connection
boards.
•
It will be necessary to have safety protective equipment (specifically, a differential
switch) on the mains line upstream of the equipment. This, in turn, will allow the
disconnection of the network in the installation and maintenance processes.
•
This protective equipment must be slow-acting so that it does not trip due to the
equipment's inrush current.
6.1.1.2
BATTERY INSTALLATION
Batteries should be installed in humidity-free and well-ventilated places. If they are installed
indoors, it is important that adequate ventilation is maintained to minimise condensation and
ensure the evacuation of gases generated in the charge.
A “No Smoking” warning shall be placed in the location where the batteries are installed, as
well as a warning against any activity that may cause a spark in the battery room.
Handling, safety and maintenance instructions should be placed at the battery installation site.
This will ensure the user has the option to consult the installation and maintenance aspects of
the batteries in a more efficient way.
Insulated tools and appropriate clothing should be used. No rings, wristwatches or metal parts
should be worn when handling and installing the batteries.
