Procedure 7.10 - Replacing the Load Resistor
(C846 version 1 only)
Caution
When the cycle is operated the load resistor will become hot. Before proceeding with this
procedure, be sure that the load resistor has cooled sufficiently to be safely handled.
1. Set the on/off switch in the off position.
2. Remove the right cover per Procedure 7.1.
3. Disconnect the red and yellow wires from the load resistor. The red wire will have heat
shrink tubing around it to protect the wire from heat generated by the resistor.

4. Remove the only the mounting screw shown in Diagram 7.17. Slide the load resistor
mounting bracket out of the end of the resistor.
5. Slide the replacement load resistor onto the resistor bracket that is still attached to the
frame. Insert the remaining resistor mounting bracket into the other end of the load resistor.
Replace and tighten the bracket mounting screw to 50 in/lb.
6. Reconnect the yellow and red wires. Dress and cable tie the wires so that they are away
from the surface of the resistor.
7. Check the cycle’s operation per section 4.
8. Replace the cover per Procedure 7.1.
