The alignment procedure can be performed in two different ways:
ALIGNMENT PROCEDURE WITHOUT SERIAL CABLE USABLE UP TO 4 BEAMS
1. Enable the acoustic signal of the buzzer on the TX basic card of the barrier (Jumper SPEAKER in ON
position);
2. Press for 5” button
P
on the TX basic card and when all the 6 LEDs called “Lens Beam LED” are alight
release the button; LED 1 will have a steady light to indicate that only beam N° 1 is transmitting
3. Enable the acoustic signal of the buzzer on the RX basic card of the barrier (SPEAKER Jumper in ON
position);
4. Press for 5” button
P
on the RX basic card with the same procedure as that just performed on the TX card;
LED 1 will be on;
5. adjust the TX and RX lenses (horizontal and vertical); the buzzer will beep with a frequency that increases
with the centring until reaching a continuous sound when the beam is perfectly centred;
6. Repeat this operation for all the beams to be aligned; press briefly on the
P
buttons on both basic cards to
move the TX and RX forward by a step (always check the compatibility of the beams in active test, e.g. LED 3
on the TX card – LED 3 on the RX card);
7. Exit the alignment procedure with a prolonged pressure on the
P
button on both the basic cards.
ALIGNMENT PROCEDURE WITH SERIAL CABLE (Recommended)
USABLE UP TO 6 BEAMS BY THE RECEIVER
The alignment with serial cable (linear TX-RX connection of terminals A-B-C-D on both the basic cards) not only
facilitates the procedure but also give a more precise and reliable end result.
1. Enable the acoustic signal of the buzzer on both the TX/RX basic cards (Jumper SPEAKER in On position).
2. Access the alignment procedure using the same method described previously by pressing button
P
for 5”,
either from either the TX or RX side.
Subsequent pressure on the
P
button will move the test procedure forward on both the TX/RX cards.
3. Complete the alignment of all the lenses as described previously.
4. Exit the alignment procedure with a prolonged pressure on either the TX or RX
P
button, or else use the
R
button.
N.B.
On the RX basic card, in addition to the fixed light LED of the beam interested by the alignment, the other
“lens beam” LEDs could also start flashing which means that the TX transmission is being seen by other
receivers in adition to the corresponding RX.
Should a multiple beam operation be envisaged it is essential to check that each individual TX beam is seen by
the RX (the interested LEDs flash)
When the alignment operations have been terminated, complete the calibration of the barrier crossing intervention
speed on the SPEED setting timer (70 – 1000 ms), taking into consideration the indications below (min sensitivity,
rotation anti-clockwise 1000 ms – max sensitivity, rotation clockwise 70 ms).
When the installation, alignment and calibration operations are completed as described above, re-close the
barrier, making sure that the covers are water-tight then complete the installation by testing the complete
system and checking the working efficiency.
For distances below 40 metres in the single lens version and 60 metres in the double lens version, the RANGE
jumpers of the respective RX expansion cards must be set to the L position. For greater distances they must be
in the H position and at the same time make sure that at least the RX main card to the 24VAC central terminal is
earthed.
