6. Press the quick release button again and push the thread bar in to trap
the workpiece against the moveable and fixed vice jaws.
a.
The moveable vice jaw will swivel to match the fixed jaw’s angle,
as it is tightened.
7.
Turn the knob on the thread bar to tighten the moveable vice and
secure the workpiece.
8. Adjust the grinder position if necessary.
a.
Loosen the screw (#26) on the slide supporter (#24) to allow the
arm (#49) to freely slide back-and-forth (Fig. 4-2).
b. Reposition the grinder to make sure the cut will go through the
workpiece.
c.
Tighten the slide supporter screw unless you are performing a
slide cut.
9. Adjust the cut depth with the arm’s screw (#19) and lock nut (#20). The
screw stops the downward cut when it contacts a metal tab on the
arm supporter (#44).
a.
Loosen the screw to increase the cut depth. Tighten the screw to
decrease the cut depth.
b. Hold the screw in place and turn the lock nut until it is hand-tight
against the arm. This prevents the screw from moving during use.
c.
Pull the grinder down while unplugged to check the cut depth is
correct. Adjust depth as necessary.
10. Plug the angle grinder into a power source.
11. Turn the angle grinder on.
12. Hold the handle (#15) and pull down to cut the workpiece. Work slowly
and do not force the tool, as this can damage the disc and result in a
poor cut.
13. Turn the grinder off and unplug it once the task is done.
14. Turn the knob to release the workpiece.
SLIDE CUT
You may need to use a slide cut on wider workpieces. Using this function
requires that the base is attached to the workbench to prevent it from
sliding during use.
