TROUBLESHOOTING
Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does not function
properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so, have a qualified technician
service the tool.
Problem(s) Possible Cause(s) Suggested Solution(s)
Extension cord will not
fully retract. Retraction mechanism
jammed or damaged. Call an authorized technician for
service to fix the reel’s internal
spring.
No electrical power at
output end of extension
cord. 1. Power outlet is not
functioning.
2. Amperage draw has
tripped the circuit
breaker.
3. Extension cord or power
supply cord is damaged.
1. Check outlet’s breaker and
reset if needed. If outlet is still
dead, have an electrician
replace it.
2. Follow steps in Operation –
Circuit Breaker to reset.
3. Replace reel or have a certified
technician replace the
damaged component.
Cable does not retract
at all. Spring lost tension or is
broken. Have a qualified technician replace
spring canister.
Circuit breakers trip or
fuses blow repeatedly. 1. Equipment does not
conform to reel’s
electrical rating.
2. Wires have shorted.
1. Discontinue use of equipment
with reel.
2. Have a qualified technician
replace wires.
Reel retracts too fast. Reel is not tensioned
properly. Decrease spring tension. Refer to
