WARNING! Only qualified service personnel should repair the tool. An
improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the user and/or others.
CABLE REPLACEMENT
1. Pull the entire cable off the drum.
2. Remove the cable from the drum’s keyhole.
3. Pull the cable through the cable guide (F) and the hook’s pulley.
4. Cut the cable between the swivel (G) and the ferrule. Remove the cable
5. Slide a new ferrule onto the cable end.
6. Thread the cable end through the swivel opening and into remaining ferrule
opening.
7. Crimp the ferrule to secure cable. Ensure there is enough pressure to
prevent the cable from pulling out of the ferrule.
8. Thread the remaining cable through the hook’s pulley, under the cable
guide and onto the drum.
9. Insert the cable end into the drum key hole and pull the handle to wrap
three turns of cable onto the drum.
10. Attach the tool to an anchor point and a load that will place tension on the
cable. Pull the load towards you and carefully guide the wraps until the
cable is wrapped neatly on the drum.
11. Detach from the anchor and load.
CLEANING
Wipe the tool with a clean cloth and periodically blow out all areas with
compressed air. If compressed air is not available, use a brush to remove dust
from areas. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents to clean the tool.
CABLE CLEANING
A cable will accumulate debris over time. This debris can act as an abrasive on
the cable and damage it.
Spread the cable out on a clean surface and spray it clean with a garden hose.
