Using the Composite Railway-Insulator Tester & Software
40
An instant determination can be made by the Tablet Operator whether to
Reject
or
Accept
the
last insulator scan. Here are some examples of scans to be rejected:
Incomplete scan:
The Tester operator stopped for any reasons the scan before reaching
the end of the scan
Shed missing:
The sled jumped over a shed or skirt because the operator didn’t apply
enough pressure on the hot-stick
Curves don’t match:
If two scans have been performed, the two curves should be
almost identical
Practice session:
The first time, it is recommended to perform some “dummy” scans to
get used to the manipulation of the hot-stick
If the scan
is rejected, a system message will be returned asking if you are sure you want to delete the
downloaded data. If
rejected
, the data is erased from the Insulator Tester Software database.
If
accepted
, the data from one or more
scans, with the unique identifiers, is
retained in the results database of the
Insulator Tester Software database.
