Defrost monitor
Defrost monitor operation
Festivo MEDLAB products have automatic defrosting. Defrosting is controlled by the cabinet’s own
monitoring sensor P2 and defrosting is stopped as soon as the evaporator has melted. The defrost
monitor function is controlled by the bottle sensor P4.
The defrost monitor is a function that protects the storage of highly sensitive products (e.g.,
reagents) during the defrost cycle. The defrost monitor monitors the internal temperature during the
defrost cycle and stops defrosting if the internal temperature rises above the set limit, for example,
due to the door opening.
If the defrost monitor function interrupts defrosting, a new defrost cycle will start automatically
after 1 hour when the temperature has stabilized.
Defrost monitor factory settings:
Medicine refrigerators (+ 7°C)
Freezers (-10°C)
Defrost monitor and parameter Srt setting (Pr2 service level)
The defrost monitor is set at pr2 level with parameter Srt.
Note
The value of the Srt parameter does not change even if the cabinet setpoint (SET) is
changed.
Note!
The value of the parameter Srt must not be too close to the set (SET) temperature.
Medicine refrigerators: set temperature (SET) + 2 or more = value of parameter Srt
Freezers: set temperature (SET) + 4 or more = value of parameter Srt
For example, temperature setpoint SET = -22
-22 + 4 = -18 (Srt)
P4 display temperature monitoring probe (average temperature)
The P4 control sensor is installed in the bottle on the rear wall of the cabinet. Loosen the bottle cap
to remove it from the rack.
