the rubber cover. Unscrew the cap of the boi-
ler situated on the bottom of the appliance
(14) with a suitable screwdriver.
10.4 Use the funnel to pour 250 ml of cold wa-
ter into the boiler (15).
10.5 Rinse out the boiler and pour the water
away into the sink or into a container for col-
lecting dirty water. If the water is very dirty,
repeat the operation until it is clean.
10.6 Put 100 ml of water in the boiler and
screw back the cap. Make sure that the seal is
in and the cap is screwed on properly.
10.7 Fill the water tank again and put the cap
on.
10.8 Turn the appliance on again.
Before ironing, release steam into the sink or
another container and check that the steam is
clean. This should take a few seconds.
10.9 Resume ironing normally.
11. REPLACEMENT BOILER CAP GA-
SKET (not supplied)
If the gasket of the boiler cap is damaged, re-
place it with the specific spare part, as descri-
bed below:
11.1 Unplug the appliance and let it cool down
for 2 hours at least, if it is hot.
11.2 Empty the water from the tank to prevent
leaking.
11.3 Turn the appliance upside down and lift
the rubber cover. Unscrew the cap of the boi-
ler situated on the bottom of the appliance
(14) with a suitable screwdriver.
11.4 Remove the damaged washer.
11.5 Insert the new gasket and push it in place
(15).
11.6 Screw the boiler cap back on, making sure
that it is correctly screwed on and replace the
rubber cover.
The spare gasket can be purchased from
authorized Polti Service centres (check on
www.polti.com for the updated list).
12. STORAGE
12.1 Turn off the appliance and disconnect
from the mains electricity.
12.2 Wait for the appliance to cool down com-
pletely before storing it.
12.3 Empty the water tank.
12.4 Place the tube into the hook on the side
of the unit (17).

is possible to lock the iron so that the Vapo-
rella can be carried by lifting it with the hand-
le of the iron (18).
To lock the iron it must first be set on the rear
part of the rest mat (19), then lift the iron lock
located on the front part of the rest mat (20).
To release the iron return the iron lock to the
original position by pushing it downward.
WARNING:
Do not exceed the quantity of
water recommended and pour it slowly into
the boiler, paying attention not to let it over-
flow.
Make sure to firmly hook the iron to prevent
it falling accidentally.
WARNING: Risk of scalding! When accessing
the boiler (removing the cap, filling up,
emptying), ensure that the appliance is swit-
ched off at the power switch and disconnec-
ted from the mains for at least two hours.
