The keys are located under the LCD. Each key executes command displayed on LCD above

it.

Use keypad to control Display and Control Unit РМ1403 (Figure 7.2).
BDAB is switched on and ready for operation.
BDAB switches off when the cable is disconnected from Display and Control Unit РМ1403,

or after Display and Control Unit РМ1403 is switched off.

To switch Display and Control Unit  РМ1403

: select "Power Off", Figure 7.4 (3), or press

the lower key and wait for the Display and Control Unit РМ1403 to switch off.

Operation modes

BDAB enables the following operation modes:

measurement of

- radiation flux density;

measurement of β- radiation flux density;

search for

- β- radiation sources;

program operation modes by means of Display and Control Unit РМ1403  or PC.

BDAD  automatically  enters  test  mode  after  switching  on.  During  test  it  checks  BDAB-

Display  and  Control  Unit  РМ1403  communication  via  the  RS-485  interface.  Charge  level  of  the
Display and Control Unit РМ1403’s accumulators is checked as well. At that the Display and Control
Unit РМ1403’s LCD will indicates a linear scale indicating time left to the test end, Figure 7.3 (1).

BDAB  automatically  starts  calibration  after  test  is  completed,  Figure  7.3  (2).  The  analogue

scale shows time spent from the calibration start in relative units. Completely filled scale means end
of the calibration.
