holding BDAB on the surface being tested, watch the statistical error values. When the
statistical error value gets below 10 %, press MENU key on Spectroscopic Radiation Monitor
РМ1403. The lower the statistical error is, the more accurate the measurement data are;

select “Next Step” menu item, Figure 6.7 (3). Press SELECT key on Spectroscopic
Radiation Monitor РМ1403. When statistical error exceeds 10 %, the Spectroscopic Radiation
Monitor РМ1403’s LCD will display a corresponding message, Figure 6.6 (4). If current
measurement error is sufficient, then click “Yes” option in the message and press
“SELECT” key on Spectroscopic Radiation Monitor РМ1403;
7)
following the instructions displayed by Spectroscopic Radiation Monitor РМ1403’s LCD,
Figure 6.7 (4), close the γ-filter, Figure 6.5 (В), and place BDAB on the surface being tested in the
same way as before

Figure 6.7
Level of measured β- radiation flux density is displayed graphically as well on the analogue
scale. Quantity of lighting scale segments corresponds to the value of measured β- radiation flux
density relative to the set threshold level.
When set threshold of flux density is exceeded, the instrument will emit sound (and) or light
signals. At that the analogue scale displayed on the Spectroscopic Radiation Monitor РМ1403’s LCD
will be filled completely
Signals are emitted all the time when the measured flux density value exceeds a set threshold.
Press any Spectroscopic Radiation Monitor РМ1403 key to switch off alarm.
