Installation Instructions
a) Preparing Installation
•
Installation of the product must be carried out by a qualified professional (i.e. an electrician) who is familiar
with all applicable regulations!
•
By handling mains voltage improperly, you endanger not only yourself but also others!
•
If you do not have the relevant expert knowledge, do not install the product yourself, but have it done by a
professional.
•
The product is suitable for use in protected outdoor areas according to IP44. It must not be used in or under
water. This poses a risk of fatal electric shock!
•
Protect the product from salt water (e.g. road salt in wintertime) in order to prevent corrosion.
•
Mount the product to a vertical surface only.
•
Do not mount the product to or inside vehicles.
•
This product is not explosion-proof. Never use the product in rooms which contain or may contain flammable
gases, vapours or combustible dusts! There is a risk of explosion!
•
Do not hang or secure any objects (e.g. decorations) to the light.
•
Always comply with the accident prevention regulations for electrical equipment when using the product in
industrial facilities.
•
When mounting the product, take into consideration the routing of the mains cable.
•
Only use a suitable, fixed mains cable for power supply.
•
A suitable switch is required for turning the product on and off.
•
The product must be secured via an existing sub-distribution unit with a 10/16A fuse. This setup requires the
installation of an upstream residual current circuit breaker (FL switch).
•
The product must be completely free of voltage for installation. Just turning off the light via the switch does
not make it entirely voltage free.
•
Turn off the corresponding circuit breaker and/or automatic fuse to remove all voltage from the power circuit.
Secure them against unauthorized restart, e.g. by installing a warning sign. also switch off the relevant circuit
breaker in order to disconnect all poles of the mains cable from the mains supply.
•
Check the power circuit for any remaining voltage using an appropriate measuring device.
b) Choosing a Location
1.8 - 2.5 m
180°
180°
0.5 - 10 m
180°
The motion sensor has range of 0.5 - 10 meters (in front of the light), and a 180º detection angle.
To optimize motion detection, the lamp should be mounted approximately 1.8 - 2.5 meters off the ground.
The detection range of the device can be affected by changes in temperature, mounting height and location.
Do not position the device near sources of heat. For example, hot ventilation ducts, air conditioning units, or
lamps. Do not install near bright locations.
The product is suitable for use in unprotected outdoor areas. However, the product must never be used in or
under water.
Position the panel where it will not be affected by falling objects or animals.
Do not position the device facing objects that could move in the wind. For example, trees or shrubs. Highly
reflective surfaces can also trigger the PIR sensor

b) Drilling Holes and Inserting Wall Plugs
•
When drilling or tightening screws, make sure not to damage any cables, wires or pipes located underneath
the surface. Inadvertently drilling through electric cables can cause life-threatening danger of an electric
shock!
•
Wall-mounting is permissible only where the wall concerned is of the correct type and condition. Lightweight
partition walls or those made from gypsum boards are normally unsuitable.
•
Make sure that the fixing location is sufficiently stable and firm, in order to support the device.
•
Before mounting, check if the screws and wall plugs enclosed are suitable for the relevant wall mounting. If in
doubt, contact a specialist before installing the product.
•
The choice of an unsuitable installation location can lead to personal injury or material damage!
•
Prepare the surface for installation. It should be dry, clean, flat and free from debris.
•
Always make sure the device is securely fastened and firmly held in place before letting go.
You can use the holes on the mounting plate as a template to mark where to place the wall plugs. Use the two
screws and wall plugs provided in the package.
Use a 6 mm diameter drill bit to prepare holes for the wall plugs.
