23. Remove the push rivet that attaches the heat shield
to the rear cross member. Remove the (8) bolts and
(4) nuts that attach the front and rear cross member
to the vehicle frame and remove both cross members.
24. Place a suitable drain pan under the vehicle and
remove the (2) coolant hoses from the engine.
Dispose of engine coolant properly.
25. Use an overhead or portable engine hoist and suitable
engine straps to secure engine in its current position.
26. Remove the (4) rear mounting bolts (J) that attach the
rear of the engine to the transmission.
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the bolts that
retain the bracket (K) to the transmission.
27. Remove the (4) front engine mounting bolts (L) and
nuts (M).
28. With the help of an assistant and the engine hoist,
raise the engine vertically out of the vehicle frame.
