Check the oil level when the engine is cold. Never check the oil with the engine
running.
1. Position the vehicle on a level surface.
2. Access the oil dipstick and fill tube from the left side of the ATV
q
. Remove
the dipstick. Wipe it dry with a clean cloth.
3. Reinstall and tighten the dipstick.
4. Remove the dipstick and check the oil level
5. Add the recommended fluid as needed. Maintain the oil level in the safe
range between the FULL and ADD marks. Do not overfill.
6. Reinstall and tighten the dipstick.
OIL AND FILTER CHANGE
See the fluid recommendation table for capacities and plug torques. Always
change the oil and filter at the intervals outlined in the Periodic Maintenance
Chart beginning on page 88. Always change the oil filter whenever changing oil.
1. Position the vehicle on a level surface.
2. Start the engine. Allow it to warm up at idle for two to three minutes.
3. Stop the engine.
4. Clean the area around the drain plug

5. Place a drain pan under the crankcase.
6. Remove the drain plug
q
. Allow the oil to drain completely.
CAUTION
Hot oil can cause burns to skin. Do not allow hot oil to contact skin.
