Transmission Oil
Oil Change
1. Position the vehicle on a level
surface.
2. Place a drain pan beneath the
transmission oil drain plug area.
3. Loosen the jam nut.
4. Turn the adjuster bolt in to allow
the removal of the drain plug.
5. Remove the drain plug and wipe
the magnetic end clean to
remove accumulated metallic
filings.
6. After the oil has drained com-
pletely, install a new sealing
washer and reinstall the drain
plug. Torque to specification.
7. Turn the adjuster bolt out until it
touches the frame, and then turn
an additional 1/2 turn.
8. Tighten the jam nut securely while holding the adjuster bolt.
9. Remove the dipstick. Add the recommended lubricant until the oil
level is between the upper and lower limits. Do not overfill.
10. Reinstall the dipstick
11. Check for leaks. Discard used oil properly.
