MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION
Recoil Housing
Water will enter the recoil housing if
the starter handle is disengaged from
the rope or if the handle is not
securely seated when under water.
Drain the recoil housing any time the
vehicle has been operated in very wet
conditions and also before storage.
The drain screw (1) is located at the
bottom of the recoil housing, above
the front propshaft. Remove the
screw with a 10 mm wrench.
Reinstall the screw after the housing
has been drained.
NOTE:
Do not open the crankcase drain (2) unless the engine has
ingested water. Some engine oil will be lost if crankcase drain is
opened.
