You can run the extractor hood with a carbon filter which prevents unwanted cooking smells.
It is not imperative to use a carbon filter.
Replace the filter, when it does not clean the air any longer ( approx. 3-6 months ).This
depends on how often you use the hood.
Replace the carbon filter by removing the grease filter; then place the carbon filter on the
socket ( centre of the motor ) by turning it clockwise.
The activated carbon filter has a central socket.
1. The air duct should be as short and straight as possible.
2. Extractor mode: installation with ventilation stack or air duct outwards only, wall
penetration = 120 mm diameter, drilling about 130 mm diameter.
3. The diameter of the exhaust hose should be at least 120 mm. Otherwise you have
to expect increased noise and decreased capacity of your appliance.
4. Ensure that the diameter is met if you need bends. Otherwise the capacity of your
appliance will be decreased.
5. Use smooth tubes or flexible, non-inflammable exhaust hoses only.
6. If the air duct is connected horizontally, a minimum falling gradient of 1 cm/m or
an inclination of 2
0
is required. Otherwise condensate will get into the motor of the
hood ( look at figure 1 ).
7. When an exhaust duct is used the ending of the exhaust hose must be adjusted
to the direction of flow.
8. If the air duct passes through cool areas ( e.g. an attic ), a temperature gradient
may occur in the different parts of the air duct so condensate will be generated.
Proper insulation of the corresponding parts of the air duct will then be needed.
9. Equip such an air duct with a condensate trap if need be.
