- The sole use of proximity sensors type “pnp” is allowed;
- The duty cycle of each cam must make sure that at least one of the two sensors

associated is always active;

- prevent foreign bodies to penetrate between the proximity sensors and the cams

thanks to proper installation, in order to avoid unwanted activations of the sensors.

- Install the two proximity sensors of the same axis in a way that makes them

mechanically independent, in order to avoid a failure for simultaneous detachment of
both sensors. For example, avoid fixing both sensors to a single bracket.

- To detect the sense of the rotation, the two sensors referring to the same axis must

be installed with a phase angle of 1/4 of the angle subtended by the tooth and the
slot of each cam (example: if the phonic wheel has two teeth and two slots, the
subtended angle of each cam is 180° and suggested phase angle is 45°). The tooth/
slot duty cycle  in any case must guarantee that at least one sensor is always active
in any condition.

- The correct detection of each axis rotation sense must always be verified on the

machine, because it is strongly influenced by:
- Acceleration and angular speed of the axis
- Phase angle between the two sensors
- Cam shape (duty cycle)
- Reaction time of the sensors used

 13   INCREASE OF  THE NUMBER AND  THE LOADING CAPACITY OF  THE CONTACTS

If necessary it is possible to increase the number and the loading capacity of the

output contacts by using external contactors with forced guided contacts.

Feedback circuit for external contactors

with automatic start wiring

Feedback circuit for external contactors

with manual or monitored start wiring

For a correct system operation any safety module or PLC connected to the electronic safety outputs
OSx have to tolerate the pulse tests that are made on safety outputs .

 14  DISPOSAL

At the end of service life product must be disposed of properly, according to
the rules in force in the country in which the disposal takes place.
