Regenerating the soft water booster (WP3853 only)
The Soft water booster needs to be regenerated regularly. Depending on
the hardness of the water supply in the area where you live, Philips suggests
the following regeneration intervals:
First time After first time
Bejing, Shenyang, Tianjin 4wk 2wk
Wuhan, Nanjing, Chongquing, Shanghai,
Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hangzhou
8wk 4wk
Qindao, Shenzhen 12wk 6wk
Other provinces 8wk 4wk
The Soft water booster has to be replaced every 6 months, see chapter
‘Replacement’.
1 Make sure the raw water tank is empty.
2 Remove the top cover.
3 Pull the Soft water booster out of the raw water tank.
4 Take a large bowl in which the Soft water booster fits. Rinse this
bowl to make sure it is clean. Do not put the Soft water booster in
the bowl yet.
5 Fill the bowl with ambient water. Add 100g kitchen salt to each litre
of water you put in the bowl. Stir the solution until all the salt has
dissolved.
If you use a Chinese soup spoon, you have to add 6 spoons of salt to each
litre of water.
