Intercepting calls
Using your handset
If your answering machine has started handling a call and you wish to take it:
Press
t
to take the call.
The answering machine will stop and you can talk to the caller.
Using another telephone
If you have another telephone (e.g. a corded telephone) connected in parallel and
you want to intercept the call that your answering machine is handling:
Pick up the receiver and press
D
twice on the other telephone.
The answering machine will stop and you can talk to the caller.
Call screening
If your answering machine is recording the caller’s message (the handset displays
t
and
l
blinks simultaneously on all handsets), you can listen to the caller
before deciding whether you answer the call or not.
Using your handset
Press
H
on the handset.
H
is displayed.
You can listen to the caller on the handset loudspeaker without being heard.
The answering machine continues handling the call.
Press
H
again to stop screening without taking the call.
During call screening, you can adjust the handset loudspeaker volume by pressing
the
-
and
+
keys.
You can choose from three possible sound levels: soft, medium and loud.
By default, the volume is set to medium.
Note:
Call screening can be activated on only one handset at a time.
During call screening, you can answer the call by pressing the
t
key.
Using the base station
Call screening is automatically activated on the base station loudspeaker and
stopped as soon as you intercept the call.
You can adjust the base station loudspeaker volume by pressing the
+
and
-
keys.
You can choose from four possible sound levels: off (the loudspeaker is muted),
soft, medium and loud.
By default, the volume is set to medium.
The sound level you have selected will be set for future calls.
