Always put the machine on a flat and stable surface.

Do not place the machine on a hotplate or directly next to a hot oven, heater or similar source of heat.

Do not place the machine in a cabinet when in use.

Be careful when you remove the used capsule drawer. Capsules are hot immediately after brewing.

Never let the machine operate unattended.

Never use any accessories or parts from other manufacturers or that Philips does not specifically
recommend. If you use such accessories or parts, your warranty becomes invalid.

Never pour any other liquid than clean cold water into the water reservoir.

Do not use the machine at altitudes higher than 2200 meters above sea level.

Do not use or store the machine at a temperature below 0 °C. Water left in the machine may freeze and
cause damage.

Never flush the machine or let it brew coffee when the spout is not in place.

Flush the coffee machine with fresh water before you use it for the first time. This causes the system to fill
with water, which is essential for the machine to work properly.

Rinse the water tank and fill it with fresh water every 24 hours.

The detachable parts of the coffee machine, except for the water tank and in some cases the drip tray, are
dishwasher-proof. If the drip tray of your machine is dishwasher-proof, this is indicated in the quick start
guide and in the online user manual. Rinse the parts that are not dishwasher-proof under a running tap.

Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids such as petrol or acetone to clean
the machine. Simply use a soft cloth dampened with water.

Descale your machine regularly. The machine indicates when descaling is needed. Not doing this will
make your machine stop working properly. In this case, repair is not covered by your warranty.

Never use a descaling agent based on mineral acids such as sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid, sulphamic
acid and acetic acid (e.g. vinegar). These descaling agents may damage your coffee machine. Instead,
use only the L‘OR Barista descaling agent which can be purchased at www.lorbarista.com.

Never interrupt the descaling process.

The machine is intended for normal household use only. It is not intended for use in environments such
as staff kitchens of shops, offices, farms or other work environments, nor is it intended to be used by clients
in hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts and other residential environments.

When disassembling the milk frother for cleaning purposes, do not try to detach the coil holder from the
spindle. The coil holder and spindle are one unit and cannot be separated without damage.

Only use the milk frother to heat up or froth milk. Do not use it to process any other ingredients.

When frothing milk in the milk frother, do not exceed the maximum level indicated in the milk frother.
If you overfill the milk frother, hot milk may escape from under the lid and cause scalding.

The bottom of the milk frother jug is hot if you pour out milk immediately after heating up or frothing.

Do not move the machine while the milk frother is operating, to prevent hot milk from escaping from
under the lid.

Correct cleaning of the milk frother is very important for reliable performance and good frothing results.
