Cappuccino
"Cappuccino" is the Italian name for
Espresso with a little milk and a layer of milk
froth.
The froth is made of cold milk in a milk jug
using the steam pipe. The froth, together with
a little milk, is added to the Espresso.
The steam pipe of your Espresso machine is
equipped with a handy accessory, named
"Cappuccino Extra". This will help you to make an
excellent milk froth for Cappuccino, simply and
effectively.
First prepare the milk froth, then the Espresso.
Note: Use the wider special "Cappuccino" cups
(approx. 70 ml) for the same quantity of coffee!
- Make the appliance ready for making Espresso
coffee. However, now pour some extra water
into the water tank for making steam: fill the
glass jug up to indication

and add this to
normal quantity of water required for making
Espresso.
- Fill a milk jug about half full with cold milk.
- Keep the milk jug under the steam pipe.
Please note: the air outlet holes of the
attachment should remain under the milk level
(fig. 14.)
- Set the control knob to position
s
(fig. 15).
Steam will come out of the steam pipe, making
the milk bubble.
- When enough milk froth has been formed, set
the control knob to position O (fig. 16).
- Remove the milk jug.
- Wipe the steam pipe clean with a damp cloth.
Hold the cloth at the steam pipe opening and
allow the appliance to produce steam for
another 1-2 seconds to clear the nozzle.
- Set the control knob to position

for making
Espresso (fig. 17).
- Pour the Espresso into the cups. Add sugar
and milk to taste.
- Place one or two teaspoons of froth on the
Espresso.
- Sprinkle with cocoa powder or ground
cinnamon if liked.
After use
- Switch off (fig. 13).
- Check if the appliance is still under pressure by
setting the control knob to position
s
.
If so, place the glass jug under the steam pipe
opening and let the steam escape. Then close
the steam control.
- Unscrew the lid of the water tank.
- Set the control knob to position
k
.
- Unscrew the filter holder (fig. 18).
- Set the filter clamp into forward position
(fig. 19).
- Holding the filter clamp pushed forward, throw
away the used ground coffee (fig. 20). (The
clamp will keep the filter in the filter holder.)
- After cleaning, you may pull the filter clamp
backward (fig. 21) and store the filter holder
screwed on to the appliance (fig. 22).
Tips
• Use exclusively fresh real Espresso-coffee.
- Try out a number of types of Espresso and find
out which suits your taste best.
• Store the coffee in an air-tight and lightproof
container in a cool and dry environment.
- In special cases please follow the instructions
of the manufacturer.
• From time to time shake the coffee container.
The finer grains tend to drain to the bottom of
the container and remain there. By shaking
from time to time you will evenly distribute the
coffee grains.
• Genuine Espresso-coffee is granulated
properly: Espresso is ground a little more finely
than "fast filter" type coffee used for coffee
makers.
When the coffee has been ground too coarsely,
the Espresso will not be tasty and aromatic.
The hot water will be pumped through the
ground coffee too quickly.
On the other hand, when the coffee has been
ground too finely, it will take longer for the
glass jug to fill. The Espresso may become
rather bitter in such a case.
• Use authentic Espresso cups (50 cc), which
you fill between half and three-quarters: that
will give you the right quantity of Espresso.
• The cups can be pre-heated with steam from
the steam pipe (see section "Cappuccino") or
with hot water from the tap.
Cleaning
• Always clean the "Cappuccino Extra"
attachment of the steam pipe after making
Cappuccino:
- Remove the outside pipe by pulling in the
direction of the arrow (fig. 23).
- Rinse the outside pipe under the tap (fig. 24).
- Let some steam escape to clean the inner
section (fig. 25).
- Finish cleaning with a damp cloth (fig. 26).
- Push the outer pipe back into place.
