IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety
precautions should always be followed to reduce the
risk of fire, electric shock, and or injury to persons
including the following:

Read all instructions before using.

1. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

Care must be taken to prevent burns which can occur
from touching hot parts or from spilling hot liquids.

2. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse

cord, plug, or base of appliance in water or other liquid.

3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is

used by or near children.

4. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before

cleaning.

5. Always allow Kettle to cool down completely before

putting on or taking off parts or before cleaning.

6. Always place Kettle on base first, then plug cord into

electrical outlet.

7. Make sure the Kettle is in OFF position (O) before

unplugging or plugging into electrical outlet.

8. Be careful not to overfill the appliance, as hot water

spurting out can cause scalds.

9. Do not operate this appliance with a damaged cord or

plug, or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been
dropped or damaged in any manner; return the Kettle
to the retail location where it was purchased for
examination, repair, or adjustment.

10. Use this appliance only for its intended use as

described in this manual. Do not use accessories
or attachments not recommended by Philips
Electronics North America Corporation as they may
cause hazards or injuries.
