Commissioning in System Builder (SB)
Commissioning is generally not required, as the controller’s factory default configuration covers the vast majority
of basic guest room scenarios. However, the controller’s functionality can be customized to meet specialized site
requirements.
2.1
Adding a controller to SB
Add the controller to your SB project using one of the following two methods:
Insert Device From Network
- The controller sends a sign-on message to the network when it is powered on.
To resend the sign-on message, press the Service Switch button on the front of the device once.
Insert Device From List
– You can add the controller to a project in SB and configure it for precommissioning
before connecting the physical device to the system.
When connected, use the
Save To Device...
and
Load From Device...
buttons to copy configuration data
between SB and the controller.
Once the device has been added to the project, it is displayed in the Network View and Physical View editors, and
can be configured in SB.
Refer to the System Builder Quick Start Guide for more information.
2.2
Copy/Paste
To create a new controller with identical properties, select the controller, press Ctrl-C to copy and then Ctrl-V to
paste. A dialog box opens, prompting for confirmation. Tick the
Include task data
checkbox to copy any
custom tasks to the new controller, otherwise it will be created with the default task list. Click the
Yes
button to
create the new controller with the same configuration as the original.
You can also copy the properties of one controller to another of the same model. Copy as above, then select the
second device before pasting. When prompted to paste the properties of the copied device to the matching
selected device, click
Yes
. This overwrites the properties of the selected device. If the selected device model does
not match the copied device, this option is unavailable.
