Enable the healthcare pendant control
Healthcare pendant control is a device that allows a patient to control
the TV from a bed in a hospital room. It provides a built-in speaker for
bedside audio and a few keys to control the TV functions such as power
on/off, channel up/down and volume control. It is also known as pillow
speaker.

Enter the Philips Hospitality setup menu.

Press to select COMMUNICATION > PENDANT .

Press to select one of the following:
•
YES
: To enable the healthcare pendant control.
• NO : To disable the healthcare pendant control.

Press to select Store.
Note
• Before you enable the pendant control, make sure that the device is
properly connected to the TV.

CONTROL; HOWEVER, IT IS EXPECTED THAT THIS INSTITUTION
(OR HOSPITAL) WILL PROVIDE ONE FOR ATTACHMENT TO
THE APPROPRIATE RECEPTACLE ON THE PRODUCT. AS PART
OF THE INSTALLATION, EXAMINE THE PENDANT CONTROL
TO DETERMINE WHETHER A MARKING SIMILAR TO THE ONE
BELOW APPEARS ON IT: ‘CAUTION - RISK OF FIRE IF USED IN
OXYGEN-ENRICHED ATMOSPHERE - RETURN TO HOOK OR
HOLDER AFTER USE.’ IF THE ABOVE NOTICE IS NOT PROVIDED
ON THE PENDANT CONTROL, REMOVE THE LABEL PROVIDED
WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND ATTACH IT TO THE PENDANT
CONTROL.
Use the analog pendant control
The analog pendant or the pillow speaker provides a built-in speaker,
a volume control, and one dual purpose button that is used to select
the channels and power the TV on/ off.

Enter the Philips Hospitality setup menu.

Press to select COMMUNICATION .

Press to select one of the following options :
•
COMMUNICATION
: To select the communication protocol
between the TV and the external device connected to the TV.
•
STORE
: To store the settings that are modified using the
COMMUNICATION menu.
•
PENDANT
: To enable or disable the healthcare pendant control.
This is available only when you select COMMUNICATION >
OFF.

Enter the Philips Hospitality setup menu.

Press to select COMMUNICATION > COMMUNICATION .

Press to select the communication protocol between the
TV and the set-top box :
• SP-SPI : Most commonly used connection.
•
SP-I2C
: When the set-top box supports this protocol.
• SERIAL XPRESS : When the set-top box supports this protocol.
•
MULTI RC
: To use Multi RC.
• SMART RC : To access PayTV channels using Smoovie remote
control.
• OFF : To turn off the communication between the TV and the
set-top box.

• For SP-SPI and SP-I2C connections, if the set-top box requires a source
switch, select DCM TYPE > GENERIC .
