4.4 Responsibility of the Operating
Company
The operating company is subject to legal obligations
regarding occupational safety. The operating company
must ensure that
• All additional work instructions and safety notices
arising from a risk assessment of the workstations at
the place of use of the lifting device are set down in
an operating manua.
• All users have read and understood the operating
manual.
• The responsibilities for operation, maintenance, and
inspection are clearly regulated and defined.
• All maintenance and inspection intervals are observed
and the lifting device is thus always intechnically
perfect condition.
4.5 Personnel Requirements /
user Groups
Everyone assigned with using the lifting device must
have read and understood the operating manual before
starting work.
People whose capability to respond is influenced by
drugs, alcohol or medication must not work on or near
the device.
The following user groups may carry out the respective
task referenced:

user group definitions:
• A person is considered to be a specialist, who, based
on his technical training, knowledge and experience,
as well as his knowledge of applicable regulations,
is able to appraise the assigned work task and
recognise potential hazards.
• A person is considered to be trained, who has
received instruction on the assigned tasks and
potential hazards associated with improper behaviour,
and has been briefed as necessary on the required
safety equipment and protective measures.
• A layperson is considered to be anyone not qualified
as a specialist or trained person.
The following is PROHIBITEd if not explicitly planned:
• Use outside of a temperature range from
– 20 °C to +100 °C).
• Use in areas susceptible to fire or heavy dust
accumulation or in potentially explosive atmospheres.
• Use in environments with hazardous oils, acids,
fumes, gases, dusts, radiation, etc.
• Private use.
The lifting device must be operated, maintained and
repaired only in a technically perfect condition by
sufficiently trained personnel (also see under „User
groups“ chapter)
NOTE: Commissioning, operation, service
and repair of any kind on the lifting device
must be carried out only on the basis of the
procedural instructions prescribed in the
operating manual
Personal protective equipment must be used according
to the workplace risk analysis (also refer to the DGUV
(German Statutory Accident Insurance) REGULATION
100-500)! We recommend using a hardhat, safety
shoes and safety gloves.
4.3 Predictable Misuse
The use of the lifting device outside of the authorised
intended use is considered to be an improper use and
thus represents misuse. Risks may occur due to
misuse. Such misuse are:
• The slinging of loads to load binding means such
as binding wires, lashing straps etc .
• The pulling, dragging or tearing of loads.
• An exceeding of the maximum permissible load
capacity or maximum load dimensions.
• The failure to observe the minimum load weight.
• The transport of radioactive materials.
• The lifting or transport of persons.
• The lifting of a load overhead persons or the
safety area.
• Arbitrary modifications (grinding, welding,
drilling etc.).
• Throwing, dropping or toppling the lifting device.
