Changing the needle
Sw itch off the main sw itch.
To remove:
Low er the presser foot
and move the needle to its highest
point. N ow loosen the needle screw
(25) and pull the needle dow n.
To insert:
The

at side A of the
needle must face to the rear. Low er
the presser foot and insert the
needle, pushing it up as far as it
goes. H old the needle and tighten
the needle screw (25)

Setting the needle thread
tension
Set the required needle thread tension
(11) w ith the help of the mark B.
The normal setting for sew ing is 4 to 5.
For free-motion sew ing, darning and
buttonhole set the tension betw een 2 and
3.
Dropping the feed dog
For certain sew ing w ork, e.g. darning or
free-motion sew ing the feed dog has to be
dropped.
To do this, open the bobbin case/ hook
cover and move slide C fully to the right.
N ow the feed dog is dropped.
