IQ/OQ for Migele Gel Electrophoresis Unit
IQ/OQ shall be made by running gel with controls of Resolve Hb FASC Control Kit or equivalent according to the
instructions of the FR-9120/FR-9400/FR-9360 RESOLVE Hemoglobin kit insert. Run 27 controls in FR-9120 gel and 72/88
controls in FR-9400/FR-9360 gels, and monitor that the controls are running equally in the corners and in the middle of
the gel.
Prepare the gel with control in every sample position.
Run the gel with recommended power supply settings and cooling system temperature.
Warning: Ensure that the operating environment and laboratory practice will not cause excess condensation.
Compare results with picture below. Gel bands should be straight and positioned similarly over the cooling plate. If
there is anything that is not positioned correctly, please take a picture of the gel and send it to your local PerkinElmer
representative to be investigated. If the water is not run enough through the cooling plate before the IQ/OQ, there
can still be air inside the cooling plate that can affect the cooling plate temperature and the gel run. That is why it is
important to keep the circulating water bath on and reach the correct temperature before IQ/OQ is made.
