Repair and Maintenance
The devices may not be repaired, changed or manipulated. If there is a defect, the product
must always be replaced with an original part.
Caustic battery acid
Leaking battery acid can cause personal injury and damage to the device.
•
Never use batteries that are leaking.
•
Never use batteries with external damage such dents or deep scratches, even if no
battery acid is leaking.
Maintenance
The WirelessHART adapter housing contains a single maintainable element, the battery
unit. There are no components which can be repaired by the user. In the event of a
malfunction or defect, please return the adapter, without batteries, to Fuchs for
repair.
The WirelessHART adapter uses a battery unit containing non-rechargable, high-power
lithium thionylchloride batteries. These batteries are non-hazardous when used according
to the recommendations of the manufacturer; they do, however, contain hazardous
substances. Please refer to the separate battery safety instructions when storing, handling,
transporting and disposing of the batteries (available at http://www.pepperl-fuchs.com).
When replacing the battery, use batteries of the correct type only (W-BAT-B2, Part No.
220390). Using the wrong type of battery may cause damage to the device. In addition,
using the wrong battery voids the device's IS certification.
