Coding
You can code the front sockets
1
and the terminals of the I/O modules so that the terminals and
the connected field devices can be assigned to exactly one front socket.
Use coding pins KF-CP.
Coding connections
1. To code the front socket of an I/O module, insert one or more coding pins into the corre-
sponding grooves on the front socket.
2. In order to code the terminal to match the front socket, cut off the plastic lugs from the
terminal from those points where coding pins are located in the front socket.
Note that the coding in example 1 and example 2 is not unique. The terminal from example 1
could be accidentally connected to the front socket in example 2. In contrast, the coding in
example 1 and example 3 is unique.
1.Not possible on FB1209*
Caution!
Danger of incorrect connections
If the coding is not unique, terminals can be accidentally mixed up.
Establish a clear coding so that every terminal fits exactly one front socket.
