Safety
A thorough knowledge of the basic safety instructions is an
essential requirement for the safe use and trouble-free ope-
ration of the swimming pool pumps. The legal accident pre-
vention regulations prevailing at the point of installation,
and the accepted specialist, technical rules for safe and
proper working must also be followed at all times.
2.1 Pictograms
The following designations and danger symbols are used in
these operating instructions:
This symbol indicates possible danger of serious
or fatal in jury to persons.
This symbol indicates possible danger of damage
to materials or the environment.
Failure to follow the safety instructions may result in se-
rious adverse health effects, or even serious or fatal injury!
Failure to follow the safety instructions will in all cases in-
validate all guarantees and liability on the part of the ma-
nufacturer.
Failure to follow the safety instructions may lead to the
following dangers:

Failure of important functions of the swimming pool
pumps
■
Failure of the prescribed maintenance measures
■
Danger to persons due to electrical, mechanical or
chemical effects
■
Danger to the environment sue to the leakage of
dangerous materials
■
Damage to equipment and building works
Other symbols used:
Dispose of packaging properly and safely.
National regulations must be observed.
Warning of dangerous electrical voltage.
2.2 Basic safety requirements
The swimming pool pumps comply with the basic health and
safety requirements of the EU. However, dangerous situa-
tions may still occur.
The swimming pool pumps must only be used and operated
when in proper operating condition and in accordance with
these operating instructions! Any faults which might tend to
impair safety must be rectified immediately!

In order to ensure safety, all persons coming into
contact with the swimming pool pumps must be aware
of the contents of these operating instructions. Only in
this way can the occurring risks be reduced to a
minimum.
■
The swimming pool pumps must not be used for any other
purpose than that specified by the manufacturer. This
may cause unforeseeable risks.
■
Local work and safety regulations and laws must be
followed at all times. The same applies for
environmental regulations.
■
If any faults or dangers are identified, personnel must
inform the operator or his representative immediately.
■
Safety devices must never be removed or bypassed
during normal operation of the swimming pool pumps.
■
If safety devices have to be removed or dismantled
during maintenance or repair work, they must be
refitted and tested immediately on completion of the
maintenance or repair work.
■
Work on technical equipment (e.g. electrics) may only
be carried out by qualified, specialist personnel.
■
Take special care when working with electric motors!
They may become hot during operation. Allow motors to
cool down before starting work on them. If this is not
possible, take suitable safety precautions, e.g. wear
protective gloves.
■
Personnel undergoing training or instruction may only
work on the swimming pool pumps under the continual
supervision of an experienced person.
■
All safety instructions and warnings on the swimming
pool pumps must be kept in a clearly legible condition
at all times.
■
Hot parts must not be allowed to come into contact
with explosive or highly inflammable chemicals.
2.3 Safety devices and regulations
This section describes all the safety devices of the swim-
ming pool pumps.
All safety devices must be kept in proper
operating condition at all times.
2.3.1 Protective devices
Protective devices may only be removed or deactivated by
suitably authorised persons, and only when this is absolute-
ly necessary for the performance of specific work. Protecti-
ve devices must be refitted / reactivated and tested for pro-
per operation immediately on completion of the work, using
only the original attachment fittings of the protective devi-
ces.
