Prior to storage, the hoist should be thoroughly inspected and maintained. Repair or replace any worn or damaged 

components to prevent any unnecessary down time at the next use. 
Follow this procedure:
1.   Thoroughly clean the hoist using a mild soap on the frame and labels, be sure all of the labels are legible.
2.  Use a neutralizing solution to clean lifeline. This is particularly important if the unit has been used in corrosive or toxic 

environments.

3.  Perform a complete inspection of the hoist and document the results prior to storage.
4.  Lubricate the hoist according to the requirements in this manual. 
5.  Touch up all nicks and scratches in order to prevent corrosion.
6.  Store the hoist in a cool, dry place.
