1. INTRODUCTION
Type D current clamps are designed for the measurement of AC currents without breaking
the circuits and without switching off the installation.
They are single or multi range clamps with outputs of 1A, 3A or 5AAC :

These clamps can withstand an overload of 20% on all ranges, depending on the specifications
of the different models (see tables on following pages).
All the models with 1A and 3A ouputs are fitted with a voltage limiter (30V crest max.) in case
of accidental opening of the secondary.
The shape of the jaws of this type of clamp makes it easy to enclose around busbars carrying
the current to be measured. With a max. opening capacity of 90mm, the clamp is able to clamp
around a 64mm diameter cable and different sets of busbars ( 5 busbars 125 x 5 mm or
3 busbars 100 x 10 mm, the busbars being spaced by their thickness ).
These clamps are used in combination with multimeters, recorders, wattmeters, energy
analysers or any other receiver that has an AC current measurement input and the
appropriate range.
The ouput is through two female safety sockets
