5. BASIC PHONE FUNCTIONS                                                       

Answering A Call

•  The ringtone is the default one.  You can change the ringtone to one of the 10  

  ringtones (Refer to Phone Setting Functions).  
•  You can pre-set special ringtones and /or caller graphic icons for particular  

  calling parties, and thus group your callers into different categories. 
•  The caller number and caller graphic icons shall be displayed on the LCD.  If  

  the caller name and specific caller graphic icon have been programmed into a  

  Phone book, the name and the associated icon shall also be displayed. 
•  To answer, press   or press  .  In the Call Mode, the red LED on the base unit  
  will blink.

Important: 

When you see the Out Of Range   icon on the LCD, you have moved 

too far away from the base unit.  Voice quality will be affected.  Move closer to the 

base unit.

Making A Call (Off-Hook Dialing)

•  Press   or press   and then dial the number.
•  To transfer a call from handset to speakerphone, press  . To transfer a call  
  from speakerphone to handset, press   again.
•  To transfer a call from handset speakerphone to base unit speakerphone,   
  press the 

 button on the handset. Press again to transfer the call back to the   

  handset speakerphone.

Making A Call (On-Hook Dialing)

•  You may preview the dialed number on the LCD before dialing.
•  Dial the number on the LCD. Use the <Clear> key to edit.
•  Press   or press  .

Predictive Dialing

•  During on-hook dialing, this feature predicts the number you are dialing by  

  searching the Dialed Numbers Record. 

•  After you’ve dialed the first 3 digits, a predicted number will be displayed. If this  

  is the number you want to dial, press   or press  .  If not, continue dialing.
•  You can clear the predictive portion by pressing “Clear” and enter other digits.
