7. MAINTENANCE
• Note that using any spark plug other than those designated may result in the
engine failing to operate properly or in the engine becoming overheated and
damaged.
• To install the spark plug, first turn the plug until it is finger tight, then tighten it
a quarter turn more with a socket wrench.
TIGHTENING TORQUE:
10–15 N·m
GEAR CASE
• Supply multi-purpose grease at every 25 hours of use.
1. Use a grease pump.
2. Feed grease until it comes out of the base of blades.
(1) Grease nipple: A type
ADJUSTING CARBURETOR
The carburetor has been adjusted at the factory. Should your unit need read-
justment due to the changes in altitude or operating conditions, please let your
skillful dealer make the adjustment. A wrong adjustment may cause damage to
your unit.
(1) Idle adjusting screw
Turn the idle adjusting screw clockwise, the idle
speed increase. Turn it counter-clockwise, the idle
speed decrease. The movement is transmitted from
the engine to the blade by a centrifugal mass clutch
that prevents the blade from moving when the engine
is running at idle speed. Before each use, you shall
confirm that there is no blade movement when the
chain saw running at idle speed. If the blade moves at
idle speed, you should turn the idle adjusting screw
counter-clockwise until the blade stop.
