Before use
Select sanding sheet
Removal and surface:
The material removal rate and surface quality are
determined by the grain strength of the sandpaper.
■ Please note that you need to use appropriate
sandpapers with different grains for working
different materials.
Changing sanding sheets
The random orbital sander has a Velcro sheet that
enables fast and simple changing of the sanding
sheets.
♦ Lift the sanding sheet on one side and pull it
off the pad to remove it.
NOTE
► Before fitting a new sanding sheet , remove
any dust and dirt from the pad .
♦ Make sure that the holes on the sanding sheet
match up with the holes on the pad .
Dust/chip extraction
■ Please refer to the section entitled "Safety
information".
Dust extraction unit with dust collecting
device:
♦ Push the dust catcher fully onto the appliance.
♦ To empty the dust catcher , pull it from the
appliance.
NOTE
► Check the dust catcher regularly and empty
it in good time to ensure optimal dust extrac-
tion.
External extraction appliance:
Connecting:
♦ Push the adapter for external vacuum extraction
onto the exhaust outlet and turn it to the
right to lock it. If necessary, use the reducer
by pushing it onto the adapter for external
vacuum extraction .
♦ Push the hose from a suitable dust extraction
appliance (e.g. a workshop vacuum cleaner)
onto the adapter for external vacuum extraction
(with the reducer if necessary).
Removal:
♦ Pull the vacuum cleaner hose off the adapter
for external vacuum extraction .
♦ Turn the adapter for external vacuum extrac-
tion to the left and pull it (and also the redu-
cer , if attached) off.
Operation
Switching on and off
NOTE
► Always switch on the random orbital sander
before making contact with the material, then
apply it to the workpiece. During operation,
you can choose between instantaneous and
continuous operation.
Switching to instantaneous operation:
♦ Press the ON/OFF switch .
Switching off instantaneous operation:
♦ Release the ON/OFF switch .
Switching to continuous operation:
♦ Press the ON/OFF switch and keep it pressed
in and then press the lock button .
Switching off continuous operation:
♦ Press the ON/OFF switch and release it.
