Additional safety instructions for
pneumatic machines
■
Compressed air can cause serious injury.
–
When the machine is not in use, the air sup-
ply must always be shut off and the air hose
depressurised . The machine must be discon-
nected from the compressed air supply be-
fore replacing accessories or when carrying
out repair work .
–
Never aim the airflow at yourself or anyone
else .
■
Thrashing hoses can cause serious injury . You
should therefore always check whether the hos-
es and their fixings are undamaged and have
not come loose .
■
Cold air must be directed away from the hands .
■
Do not use quick-lock couplings on the inlet . For
hose connections with a thread, always only
use those made of tempered steel (or a material
with comparable impact resistance) .
■
If universal rotary joints (claw couplings) are
used, locking pins must be inserted and Whip-
check hose restraints must be used to provide
protection in the event of failure of the connec-
tion between the hose and the machine or be-
tween one hose and another .
■
Ensure that the maximum permissible pressure
on the machine is not exceeded .
■
Never carry pneumatic machines by the hose .
■
Ensure that the maximum permissible setting
value for the pressure relief valve given on the
machine is not exceeded .
■
Check the hoses and hydraulic connections
daily for damage and wear and replace if
necessary .
■
Use only clean oil and clean filling equipment .
■
Drives require a free flow of air for cooling
purposes and should be installed in a well
ventilated area free of hazardous vapours .
■
Before use, make sure the connections are
clean and properly connected .
■
Do not inspect or clean the machine while it
is connected to the hydraulic power source .
Accidental activation of the machine can lead
to serious injuries .
■
Do not set up or remove the machine while it
is connected to the hydraulic power source .
Accidental activation of the machine can lead
to serious injuries .
■
Make sure that all hose connections are airtight .
■
Wipe all couplings clean before connecting .
Failure to do so may result in damage to the
quick couplings and cause overheating .
