Overview
The HotWire 8800 DSLAM chassis, which houses MCC and DSL cards, can be
mounted in any commercial EIA-standard 19- or 23-inch rack.
This chapter provides instructions for:
Mounting the HotWire 8800 DSLAM chassis into a rack
Installing the optional air filter
Supplying power
Installing the MCC card and DSL card(s) into the chassis
Connecting to a POTS splitter shelf or Main Distributing Frame (MDF)
Connecting to the CO alarm system
Connecting to the Ethernet hubs or switches
Connecting to a console terminal, laptop computer, or modem
NOTE:
The term
rack refers to a CO rack, cabinet, frame, or bay.
