Introduction

What is the Hotwire 8610 DSLAM?

The Hotwire

®

 8610 Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM), which 

can be installed in the central office (CO) or at a customer location adjacent to the 
CO, is a low-startup-cost alternative to the Hotwire 8810 DSLAM chassis. It 
provides high-speed Internet or intranet access.

The following illustration shows a high-level view of an example Hotwire 
configuration.
