Description
ifOperStatus
( ifEntry 8 )
Specifies the current
operational state of the
interface.
State of Interface:
T1 interface
COM port
When configured as a
communication link, up
and down are based on
the current state of the
link layer protocol and
control leads. Otherwise,
the interface is always
up(1).
Sync Data ports
The interface is up(1)
when the port is cross
connected to another port
and both CTS and DSR
are asserted. Otherwise,
the interface is disabled.
Voice ports
FDL and DDL
Up(1) and down(2) are
based on the current state
of the physical layer
protocol.
EDLs
Up(1) when configured as
the management link, the
physical port is cross
connected, and a test is
not active that disrupts the
EDL.
up(1) – No alarm conditions exist,
and the interface is enabled
(Model 9265 and DSX-1 only)
down(2) – Alarm condition exists, or
the interface is disabled (DSX-1
only)
testing(3) – Test active
up(1) – Always up unless configured
as a communication link.
down(2) – Link-layer is down.
testing(3) – Never in testing state.
up(1) – DTR and/or RTS on, if DTE
supports it.
down(2) – DTR and/or RTS off, if
DTE supports it.
testing(3) – Test active.
up(1) – Port is assigned and CTS
and DSR are asserted.
down(2) – Port is disabled,
unassigned or either CTS or DSR
are not asserted.
testing(3) – Test active.
up(1) – The interface is up when
FDL and DDL is operational and a
test is not active on the T1 network
interface.
down(2) – The interface is down
when disabled.
testing(3) – Test active on T1
interface.
up(1) – The interface is up when
EDL is operational and a test is not
active that disrupts the EDL.
Down(2) – When configured as a
management link is disabled, the
interface is always down.
testing(3) – When configured as a
management link, the interface is in
a testing state when an active test
on the interface causes disruption to
the EDL data path.
