Ascent and Descent-stairs and Steps
To climb up a step, tilt your upper body forward; for descents, in-
stead, lean back into the backrest and brake the wheelchair with
the handrails. In case of climbs with a slope of more than 1%, it
is recommended to get assistance from a carer.
In the case of a climb, it is dangerous to carry heavy
bags, especially in seatback pockets. Danger of
tipping.
We recommend for your own safety use the help of two people to
ascend and descend difficult stairs or steps. For the descent the
wheelchair must be rolled on the big rear wheels and accompa-
nied step by step.
For the ascent, turning your back to the step or steps, the person
assisting must pull the wheelchair from behind step by step.
If the wheelchair is lifted, there is a danger of
over- reach and fall.
