2 Preparation for using 

2.1 Connection with Power Source 

 

Tighten the connection at the joint sections of cables. If the cable are 

improperly  connected,  electricity  can  generate  excessive  heat  and 

can cause a fire.

Connect properly the welding torch according to the operation manual of the power source. 

 

2.2 Selection of Electrode 

● 

The table below shows the general used electrode.

Ceri-Tun  is  used  popularly,  Ceri-Tun  is  characteristic  in  good  ability  of  arc  starting  during  lower 

welding  current  and  long  life,  Lan-Tun  is  characteristic  in  lower  consumption  of  electrode  and  long 

maintaining of arc stability when    D.C. TIG welding. Pure-Tun    is used when A.C. TIG welding. 

 

 

2.3 Selection of electrode diameter

The above table shows the general welding current which correspond to each electrode diameter. 

*  When  A.C.  TIG  welding,  application  electrode  diameter  bring  minuteness  difference  because  the 

different cleaning action of apply welding machine. When electrode melt fastest, should be choice bigger 

diameter electrode. 

2.4 Selection of nozzle 

● 

The  following  table  shows  recommended  nozzle  diameter  based  on  the  gas  shield.  Select  an 

appropriate nozzle, according  to this table, taking  the workability and shape of work  pieces into 

consideration.
