Synchronise the time code of the camera with that of the external device (TC IN)
The initial time code value of the camera is synchronised according to the time code signal
(LTC signal) of the external device.
1
Connect the external device, and follow the steps needed to prepare for time
code synchronisation.
2
Select the [System Frequency], [Rec Quality] and [Time Code Mode] (DF/NDF)
settings that suit the time code signal of the external device to be synchronised.
• When using [Anamorphic(4:3)] in the [Creative Video] menu, select the recording quality
in [Anamorphic(4:3)].
3
Operate the external device to output the time code signal.
• Set the time code count method of the external device to free run, and output the signal.
4
Select the menu.
• Do not connect an external flash to the flash synchro socket after selecting [TC Input].
Doing so may cause the camera to malfunction.
5
Press [MENU/SET] to receive the incoming time code signal.
6
Press [MENU/SET] to synchronise the time codes.
• When [Linked TC signal successfully] is displayed, the time code is synchronised with the
external device.
• When the time code is synchronised, it appears on the screen and the camera enters
slave state.
• When the camera is in slave state, the black and white of the time code display [
] are
reversed.
• Even when the system frequency differs between the camera and the external device,
their initial time code values may be synchronised. Bear in mind, however, that the time
codes lose sync as they count up.

If you synchronise more than one camera, the time
codes of the cameras can be synchronised with
their exposure timings, so they can start exposure
at the same time.
