Making calls

Lift the handset and dial the phone
number.

To correct a digit, press

CLEAR
}

An available line is automatically
selected and the line number is
displayed. To change the line
selection mode, see page 14.

You can also select the line
manually by pressing

LINE 1
}
or
{
LINE 2

When you finish talking, press

OFF

or place the handset on the
base unit or charger.
Note:

When 2 or more handsets are
registered,
2 outside calls can be handled
simultaneously on separate telephone
lines.
Example:
While line 1 is in use, you
can make or answer a call on line 2 at
the same time.
Using the speakerphone

During a conversation, press

to
turn on the speakerphone.

Speak alternately with the other
party.

When you finish talking, press

OFF

Note:

For best performance, use the
speakerphone in a quiet environment.

To switch back to the receiver, press

Making a call using the redial list
The last 10 phone numbers dialed are
stored in the redial list (each 48 digits
max.).

Pause (for PBX/long distance service
users)
A pause is sometimes required when
making calls using a PBX or long
distance service. When storing a calling
card access number and/or PIN in the
phonebook, a pause is also needed
(page 21).
Example:
If you need to dial the line
access number “9” when making outside
calls with a PBX:

A 3.5 second pause is inserted each
time
