Disconnect the wires from the
existing switch.
Wiring

Loosen each of the 3 screws on
the switch.

Prepare the wires to be connected
to the switch.
R Strip each black wire as shown
below. Snip any excess bare
wire if necessary.

R Straighten the bare copper wire
if it is bent.

Insert the ends of 2 black wires
and 1 ground wire into the holes
on the back of the switch as
shown below, then tighten each
screw.
R Pull slightly on each wire to
make sure it is firmly connected.
R Insert the wires fully into the
switch. Make sure there is no
bare wire exposed on the 2
black wires.
R If the existing switch (the switch
you are replacing) did not have
a ground wire connected to it,
use a piece of bare copper wire
to ground the new switch as
shown.
Finishing the installation

Carefully insert the switch into the
junction box.
R Bend the wires as necessary.
Make sure there are no bare
wires exposed (except for
ground wires).

Use the xx-included screws to
secure the switch to the junction
box.

Attach the included face plate.

Turn on the power to the circuit at
the circuit breaker or fuse panel.
5
Press the on/off switch to turn the
lights on and off.
R If the lights turn on and off, you
are ready to register the switch
to the hub.
Registering the
switch
This procedure is not required for
devices that were included as part of
a bundle.
Before you can use the switch as part
of the system, it must be registered to
the hub.
If you purchased devices separately
(i.e., not as part of a bundle), you must
register each device to the hub.
You can register each device by using
the registration buttons or the
[Home
Network] app.
Using registration buttons

Hub:
Press and hold M OTHER
DEVICE N until the LED indicator
blinks slowly in green.

Switch:
Press and hold M N until the
LED indicator blinks slowly in
green (page 7).
